Andrea Askins is a freelance writer based in Nashville, Tenn. She began her writing career in 2003 as a feature writer for her campus newspaper, "The Hill," and has worked for country music entertainment website CountryHound, and regional feature magazine "Kentucky Families Today." She received the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award in 2008 for a piece on the state of education in Kentucky. In 2009, she received a Bachelor of Arts in news/editorial journalism from Western Kentucky University.
