The Rothbury Festival is back – well, sort of. The lineup of the now defunct two-time jam band and camping festival was announced on Tuesday under the new moniker, Electric Forest.
This year’s festival seeks to combine electronic acts with bands that have roots in rock for an eclectic lineup. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday for the four-day festival, which will take place at the Double JJ Resort on Independence Day weekend, June 30 to July 3.
Rothbury alumni The String Cheese Incident will headline the festival with three shows. Electric Forest will also feature a “Saturday Afternoon Special” featuring REO Speedwagon. Other acts include Tiesto, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Stephen Marley, Kaskade, Shpongle Presents The Shpongletron Experience, Laidback Luke, Railroad Earth, JJ Grey & Mofro, Skrillex, Excision, The New Deal, EOTO, Emmitt-Nershi Band, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Toubab Krewe, Bonobo, Beats Antique, Big Gigantic, Chiddy Bang, Eskmo, Lettuce, Eliot Lipp, Paper Diamond, The Infamous Stringdusters, Zion I & The Grouch, Greensky Bluegrass, Feed Me, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, The Beautiful Girls, 12th Planet, The Pimps of Joytime, Rubblebucket, Archemesis, Emancipator, Break Science, The Macpodz, Vibesquad, Euforquestra, The Hood Internet, Lynx, Two Fresh, Kraz, The Treasures, Stez, Superdre, Panic Bomber and Dragon Wagon.

Tickets will be available at two price tiers: Price Level One is $199 and will be available immediately once tickets are on sale. Once Price Level One is sold out, tickets will be available for $239.50 at Price Level Two. Camping and parking is included in the cost of the weekend ticket. RV passes are required for those who wish to bring their RV to the campgrounds, and will cost an additional $125.
VIP tickets will be available and allow festival goers access to premium viewing areas, open bar “happy hour” on Friday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., access to private bar, food vendors, and VIP events, use of air-conditioned bathrooms within the venue, and a private entry and check in for each VIP area. VIP ticket prices start at $475; RV passes for VIP ticket holders are an additional $150.
The festival encourages fans to donate non-perishable and canned foods through the “Art That Feeds” food drive. Any attendee who donates 20 food items will receive a limited edition poster, and all donations will benefit local Michigan food pantries.
